PETALING JAYA (Oct 18): The Jaya Grocer outlet in Mutiara Tropicana was closed today in the wake of a positive Covid-19 case discovered yesterday among one of its staff members.

The management of Jaya Grocer said in a statement today that the employee had been under self-quarantine since Oct 6 when the Tropicana Golf Club hostel, where she stayed in, was locked down, Free Malaysia Today reported today.

The hostel, which was earlier reported to have several positive Covid-19 cases, did not house any other employees from the outlet, the statement said.

“As a precautionary measure, we will be closing Jaya Grocer Mutiara Tropicana on Oct 18 in order to test all Jaya Grocer staff at the Mutiara Tropicana branch.”

It added the outlet would reopen only after all test results had been released.

“Meanwhile, deep cleaning and sanitising will be carried out at the outlet. We deeply apologise for any inconvenience caused by the temporary closure and we kindly seek your cooperation and understanding during these unprecedented times,” the management stated.
