KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 19): A man was found dead with stab wounds in the middle of busy Jalan Bangsar early this morning.

According to media reports, the dead man in his 30s was left lying in the middle of the road when discovered at about 5.30am.

"We are still investigating the motive behind the attack and we are also tracking down the victim's next of kin," Brickfields OCPD Asst Comm Zairulnizam Mohd Zainuddin@Hilmi said in a statement.

Zairulnizam added that no identification documents were found on the dead man. He said the body has been sent to Universiti Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC) for a post-mortem.

New Straits Times reported that traffic was “backlogged from the KL Sentral exit” when Jalan Bangsar had to be closed by the police to facilitate investigations.

City Hall (DBKL) through its traffic info Twitter account @ITIS_TRAFIK announced the road closure at 7.20am today.

The case has been classified under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
