KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 25): The Ministry of Health (MoH) confirmed five new Covid-19 clusters were detected today with 150 total infections.
Meanwhile, three clusters have ended.
The new clusters include the D’Bajaru cluster in Lahad Datu, Sabah, in which 90 positive cases were detected, the Gangsa cluster in Kuala Langat, Selangor (30 cases), and the Kerengge cluster in Marang, Terengganu (six cases).
So far, a total of 339 clusters have been reported by the ministry.
There are currently 169 active clusters in the country with 40 clusters reporting an increase in cases, according to him.
“The clusters [that] reported the highest number of cases today are the Bakti cluster in Negeri Sembilan with 301 cases, the D’Bajaru cluster (56 cases), and the Pengkalan Barat cluster in Penang and Perak (40 cases),” said health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah at a media briefing today.
“Three clusters, the Idaman cluster involving Selangor and Kuala Lumpur, the Bayu cluster in Johor and the Bah Kota cluster which spans Selangor and Negeri Sembilan, had ended today, bringing the total clusters which have ended to 170,” said Dr Noor Hisham.
Malaysia reported 970 new infections today, lower than daily recoveries, which stood at an all-time high of 2,348, bringing the number of active cases down slightly to 12,971 from 14,353 reported yesterday.
Negeri Sembilan reported the most new confirmed cases at 318, followed by Sabah (293) and Selangor (115).
There were four new deaths today. The country’s death toll is at 345 cases.
Malaysia’s total cases increased to 59,817 versus 46,501 total recoveries.
