Gloria Estefan had Covid-19 and recovers

KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 3): Gloria Estefan (pictured), the mega-pop star of the 1980s and 90s, revealed that she was infected by Covid-19 and spent much of November in isolation, reported AP today.

Revealing that she caught the disease “despite rigorously following public health protocols”, Estefan, 63, “speculates" that she "could have been exposed by a fan who was not wearing a mask” in an Instagram posting.

The incident took place in Miami restaurant where the fan “got very close to talk to her as she was dining with three family members”, stated the AP report.

Estefan said she was “fortunate” in that she only experienced "a little bit of a cough” and dehydration after losing her sense of smell and taste.

She has since tested negative twice after recovering.
