KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 4): A number of K-pop stars have recently been tested positive for the Covid-19 virus, resulting in a spate of tests for others who were close contacts, Korea Herald reported today.

Two members of girl group Everglow (pictured), Yiren and Si-hyeon, were found to have been infected, announced their management agency Yue Hua Entertainment on Tuesday.

Four other members were also tested but their results were negative.

It then became a concern because the girl group took part in a shoot of the popular music programme Yu Hui-yeol's Sketchbook on Nov 24.

It was reported that K-pop singers such as Kim Hyeon-cheol, Joo Hyun-mi, Gummy and Teen Top were also present during the shoot.

All of them including the host of the show Yu Hui-yeol and other staff have since gone for Covid-19 screenings.

Except for Teen Top who is still waiting for the result of his test, the others were found to be not infected.

Reports also revealed that two members of boy band UP10TION also tested positive for Covid-19 on Tuesday.

Last week in Hong Kong, more than 200 TVB artistes had to be screened for Covid-19 after one of them, Edwin Siu, had a close contact with a positive case, said reports.
