KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 6): The Employees Provident Fund (EPF) will temporarily close its Johor Bahru office and counters until further notice after an employee tested positive for Covid-19.

In a statement today, the fund said the employee is receiving treatment and contact tracing is ongoing, while all other employees at the branch will take the Covid-19 swab test and observe a 14-day quarantine period if they are found positive for the coronavirus.

"Members who have made prior appointments are advised to log onto the Janji Temu Online facility to reschedule their visits to a later date. Members may also visit other EPF branches in Johor, which continue to operate as usual, or transact online via i-Akaun for selected services," it said.

Meanwhile, the EPF has closed the branch in order for disinfection and sanitisation to be carried out, as per the instructions of the Ministry of Health.

"All EPF branches will continue to strictly observe physical distancing and other preventive SOPs (standard operating procedures) in mitigating the spread of Covid-19," it said.
