SETIA ALAM (Dec 21): FIABCI, the International Real Estate Federation, has appointed S P Setia Bhd senior executive vice president Datuk Koe Peng Kang as FIABCI Asia Pacific vice president.

In a media statement released on Dec 19, 2020, S P Setia said this was the results after a global election conducted virtually at FIABCI General Assembly on 16 December 2020.

Koe is also the incumbent President of FIABCI Malaysia, he will take the office effective May 2021 – May 2023.

Koe is a professional civil engineer, he has more than three decades of experience in the fields of engineering, construction, infrastructure works, property development and possesses a strong management background.

Prior to joining S P Setia, Datuk Koe was involved in numerous national projects including the Malaysia Rural Water Supply Scheme and the implementation of the Sungai Selangor Water Supply Phase 1. 

He was also part of the Samsung C&T Corporate led South Korean Consortium in its implementation work for the Petronas Twin Towers. His contribution is in his vast engineering expertise, in-depth knowledge and extensive experience in the construction and property industry, in particular large-scale infrastructure project implementation such as the Skudai interchange and upgrade of Batu Pahat to Kluang Highway in Johor on behalf of the Federal Government.

The FIABCI Asia Pacific Committee is made out of three vice presidents from the country chapters in Asia Pacific. Datuk Koe will be serving together with David Tang from FIABCI Taiwan, Meiko Handoyo from FIABCI Indonesia for the two-year term effective May 2021, under the presidency by Peter Koh from FIABCI Singapore.
