KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 22): Alliance Bank Malaysia Bhd said one of the employees working at its headquarters in Menara Multi-Purpose here tested positive today for Covid-19.

"The affected employee has been physically absent from office since Dec 19.

"In line with the bank's safety and health guidelines on Covid-19, we have notified other employees who may have had close contact with the affected employee. We have arranged for the employees to get tested for Covid-19, and have advised them to remain in home quarantine," the bank said in a statement.

The bank further said it will carry out a thorough sanitisation on the affected floors of the building, as well as other common facilities, in accordance with health and safety guidelines.

"We continue to observe all precautionary safety measures in accordance with the Ministry of Health's guidelines," it added.

Alliance Bank shares finished the day 1.72% or five sen lower at RM2.85, valuing the banking group at RM4.41 billion. It saw 2.68 million shares done.
