KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 30): The Master Builders Association Malaysia (MBAM) has appointed Tan Sri Sufri Mohd Zin as its president for the term 2020-2022, effective Tuesday, succeeding Foo Chek Lee.
In a statement, the association said the new MBAM office bearers for the term 2020-2022 were elected yesterday following the association 66th annual general meeting on Dec 20.
Sufri, who is also TRC Synergy Bhd group managing director, brings to the position a wealth of knowledge and experience in the Malaysian construction industry with more than 35 years of working experience, especially in the civil and building industry.
He has been serving MBAM in various capacities since year 2004 and is an active MBAM council member.
“I hope that the new council will work together to move the association forward with one voice and one mind,” said Sufri.
Founded in 1954, MBAM has since grown close to 17,000 direct and indirect members, comprising corporations, affiliated associations and associated industry companies in the construction industry.
Based in Kuala Lumpur, MBAM is managed by elected council members. The council is supported by a well-staffed secretariat, headed by an executive director.
