KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 31): The Inland Revenue Board (IRB) said today it does not have a TikTok account and that the agency had made a police report following claims circulating on social media that the board had a presence in the video-sharing social networking service owned by Chinese company ByteDance.

In a statement today, the IRB said the police report will be followed by an official report to the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) in the near future on the matter.

"The IRB also wishes to advise the public to be always cautious and responsible in every social media posting,” it said.

The IRB said its official social media accounts comprise its official portal, besides its accounts on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube.
