PETALING JAYA (Jan 4): One of the employees of The Star Media Group was tested positive for Covid-19, according to a notice issued by the media group on Jan 3.

According to the Malaysiakini report, the company said the employee had been on leave since mid-December last year and away from Menara Star since.

However, the company still carried out thorough sanitisation works to ensure the safety of other users.

Meanwhile, one of the China Press editors was tested positive for Covid-19 on Jan 1. It is believed the editor got infected after attending a gathering with Barisan Nasional component party’s public services and complaints department's Datuk Michael Chong, who was also tested positive.

Another local chinese daily – Kwong Wah Yit Poh also saw one of its employees contracting the virus on Jan 2.
