KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 11): Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin will have a national address on the movement control order (MCO) at 6pm today, according to the National Security Council (NSC).

The NSC shared a poster stating that there will be a special address by Muhyiddin, entitled “Implementation of the Movement Control Order”, amid speculation from various different quarters about another lockdown in Malaysia.

Meanwhile, in a separate statement, the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) dispelled rumours of the premier undergoing treatment following his previous bout with cancer, saying that the rumours were “not true” and were made with “ill intent”.

“The prime minister has been certified to be cancer-free by the medical experts who treated him,” it said.

The PMO also denied rumours of an appointment of a deputy prime minister.
