KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 18): UEM Sunrise Bhd has appointed Sufian Abdullah (pictured) as its new chief executive officer, effective from February 2, 2021.
Sufian has over 20 years of experience in the property development and real estate industry. Being a trained architect with a hands-on track record in urban design and High-Performance Built Environments, as well as extensive corporate exposure, he has held key positions in Sime Darby Property and Kumpulan Wang Persaraan (Diperbadankan) or KWAP.
The 46-year old Sufian is currently the chief executive officer of KWEST Sdn Bhd, the property arm of KWAP. Before joining KWEST, he was the vice president of the property segment of KWAP. Prior to this, he was the former vice president (product development and land planning) of Sime Darby Property.
In a media statement today, UEM Sunrise Chairman of the Board of Directors Datuk Noorazman Abd Aziz said Sufian’s appointment comes at an exciting time for the company as UEM Sunrise embark on a bold vision and an ambitious agenda even as the country faces uncertain economic conditions and with the property sector still responding to some unique challenges.
“Sufian brings with him a wealth of experience to this important role. His background as an architect, and competencies and passion in the property development sector are a tremendous asset to our Company and the Board looks forward to working closely with Sufian as he takes leadership of UEM Sunrise.
