PETALING JAYA (Jan 27): Employees at the Jaya Grocer outlets of Empire Shopping Gallery and Mutiara Tropicana have tested positive for Covid-19, said the retailer in separate statements.

In a statement dated Jan 26, Jaya Grocer announced that “several of our staff had tested positive for Covid-19” conducting “swab tests on all of our staff at Jaya Grocer Empire Shopping Gallery” on Jan 25.

In another statement dated Jan 27, the retailer “one of our staff at Jaya Grocer Mutiara Tropicana tested positive for Covid-19 today”.

It also said that all close contact staff who have tested negative will be quarantined and “will undergo a second swab test before returning to work”.

Both outlets “will been cleaned and sanitised in accordance with the guidelines set by the Ministry of Health by a government-approved, third-party company”.

While, Jaya Grocer Empire Shopping Gallery will be closed until further notice, Jaya Grocer Mutiara Tropicana will open for business tomorrow on Thursday, Jan 28, at 9am.
