Covid-19: Malaysia reports 3,455 new cases, new record of 21 deaths today

KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 2): The Ministry of Health reported that there were a total of 3,455 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, pushing the cumulative total of positive cases in Malaysia to 222,628. 

A new record of 21 deaths were registered today, pushing the death toll to 791. 

The highest number of infections today was reported in Selangor with 1,145 cases, followed by Johor (708), Kuala Lumpur (619), and Sabah (276). 

Active cases now stand at 47,847, after 3,661 patients had recovered and were discharged today. Cumulative total recoveries stand at 173,990 so far, or a recovery rate of 78.15% of total cumulative cases.
