KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 10) : VS Industry Bhd said today that it has received notice from the Ministry of Health of Malaysia (MoH) to temporarily close three of its factories in Senai, Johor for a week to carry out deep cleaning and disinfecting exercise at those affected factories.

The factories will be closed from Feb 11 to Feb 17, it said in a stock exchange filing.

“The temporary closure of those factories is not expected to have any significant impact to the company’s operations and financial performance,” the group said.

The affected factories will resume operations on Feb 18 or earlier, subject to the approval of the relevant authorities, it said.

“VS Industry will continue to cooperate and work closely with the MoH and the relevant authorities to ensure the safety and well-being of all our employees,” it added.

VS Industry shares closed 13 sen or 4.59% higher at RM2.96 today, valuing the company at RM5.57 billion.
