KUALA LUMPUR (March 30): CBRE|WTW today announced that the company's co-founder and chairman Mohd Talhar Abdul Rahman (pictured) has decided to retire effective April 1, 2021.
In a statement, the company said it has the privilege to have a leader like Talhar as chairman for 40 years and the longest serving director for 47 years.
"His legacy which the company and the industry have benefitted from will continue to be remembered and honoured. Talhar’s retirement is a celebration of his decorated career," said CBRE|WTW.
CBRE|WTW, formed in 2016 could trace its genesis way back to 1960 when the late Colin Williams established C H Williams & Co, Chartered Surveyors Valuers and Estate Agents in Kuala Lumpur.

Upon his retirement in 1981, Talhar took on the chairmanship of WTW and continued in that capacity with CBRE|WTW.
Talhar was among the first members of the Board of Valuers, Appraisers, Estate Agents and Property Managers (BOVEAP), held offices in the Royal Institution of Surveyors Malaysia (RISM) and was one of the founders of the Association of Valuers, Property Managers, Estate Agents and Property Consultants in the Private Sector, Malaysia (PEPS) serving as its first president.
