
KUALA LUMPUR (April 16): Timber products manufacturer NWP Holdings Bhd has received a formal demand from two of its shareholders to call for an extraordinary general meeting on May 19 to move resolutions for the removal of several directors and the appointment of new board members.
In a bourse filing yesterday, the group said the notice was served by Datuk Seri Mak Hon Leong and Tan Vei Teck who claim to jointly own more than 10% of NWP's issued share capital.
The directors sought to be removed are Cheng Heang Swee, Datuk Chu Boon Tiong, Chan Cheng Han, Hong Chia Seong, Huang Kun-Fang, Yew Onn Chong and Tan Shiah Huei.
The notice served by Mak and Tan also seeks the appointment of both of them, along with Ooi Kek Keong, as new directors of the group.
