PETALING JAYA (May 17): The Health Ministry is mulling to implement a “full scale” movement control order (MCO) in Selangor, in view of the spiking number of Covid-19 cases in the state, reported Free Malaysia Today.

Commenting on the measures in curbing the spread of the Covid-19 in Selangor, which has recorded the highest number of infections and deaths over the past few weeks, Health Minister Datuk Dr Adham Baba agreed that the state should impose stricter standard operating procedures and MCO to flatten the curve.

Over the past one week, Selangor has accumulated over 10,000 positive cases. The state has recorded 1,650 cases today, compared to a total of 4,446 daily cases nationwide.

Meanwhile, Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Khairy Jamaluddin, in a joint press conference, said if conditions remained, the government might consider implementing a full MCO in Selangor to curb the spread of the infectious coronavirus.
