KUALA LUMPUR (May 19): Eversendai Corp Bhd's chief financial officer (CFO) Yau Wen Chin resigned from his post today, just over six week after he was appointed to the job.

In a bourse filing today, the company said Chin, 52, stepped down as he was "unable to fit into the role of CFO".

He was appointed to the role on April 5.

According to an earlier filing, he has over 25 years of experience in financial management and corporate finance covering various sectors such as construction, oil and gas, agriculture, mining, and property development in other public-listed companies in Malaysia.

"He held senior posts in public listed companies at various capacities such as MMC Corp Bhd, Hap Seng Consolidated Bhd, Global Carriers Bhd and TSH Resources Bhd.  

"He has worked in various financial functions, ranging from financing, treasury management, corporate restructuring, debt equity funding, reverse takeover, IPOs, investor relations and loan restructuring. 

"He specialises in financial management, tax planning, project financing, debt equity finance, corporate finance, corporate strategy, corporate performance management, internal controls, risk management, treasury management, feasibility studies, valuations and also investor relations," said Eversendai.
