KUALA LUMPUR (May 24): The registration for the second round AstraZeneca opt-in vaccination programme is now only open to senior citizens aged 60 and above, said the Covid-19 Vaccine Supply Access Guarantee Special Committee (JKJAV).

Earlier today, Chinese Press Oriental Daily reported that the registration of the second phase of the AstraZeneca opt-in vaccination for all age groups (18 years old and above) will be brought forward to 6pm tomorrow (May 25).

The report said this is due to the lacklustre response from the senior citizens aged above 60.

However, JKJAV via its Twitter account said for any news regarding the vaccination programme, the public should refer to the official website or social media platforms for the latest announcement.

Meanwhile, China Press reported National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme Coordinating Minister Khairy Jamaluddin will be having a media briefing tomorrow at 11am. If there’s an early opening of the registration, it is expected Khairy will announce it by then.
