KUALA LUMPUR (June 15): Malaysia administered its highest daily vaccination rate with 197,963 doses delivered yesterday (June 14), according to the latest data from the Covid-19 Vaccine Supply Access Guarantee Special Committee (JKJAV).

A total of 142,890 individuals received their first dose, while the remaining 55,073 received their second jab yesterday.

The seven-day moving average of daily doses given stood at 149,917.

In total, 4.69 million Covid-19 vaccine doses have been administered thus far. 

1.41 million individuals have been fully vaccinated, while 1.86 million individuals have received only one jab. 

Kuala Lumpur reported the highest number of individuals who had received their first dose at 573,392, followed by Selangor (487,138), Sarawak (355,676), Johor (309,350) and Sabah (254,339).

Meanwhile, Selangor recorded 180,605 individuals who had completed their second dose of vaccination, followed by Sarawak (159,920), Perak (135,435), Johor (135,621) and Kuala Lumpur (127,174).

National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme Coordinating Minister Khairy Jamaluddin yesterday said the fourth phase of the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme beginning tomorrow (June 16) will target industry workers.

He added that the fourth phase is meant to reduce the number of infections in workplaces as workplace outbreaks continued to dominate the number of new clusters every day.

Separately, Malaysia reported 4,949 new Covid-19 cases yesterday, bringing the country's cumulative confirmed infections to 662,457.

Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah also announced 60 more fatalities linked to Covid-19. 

A total of 921 Covid-19 patients were being treated in intensive care units (ICUs), of whom 459 were on ventilators.
