Concrete slab collapses at NKVE Sungai Buloh-Kota Damansara highway, three Bangladeshi men injured

KUALA LUMPUR (June 19): A concrete slab collapsed along the NKVE Sungai Buloh-Kota Damansara highway at around 7pm today resulting in injuries to three Bangladeshi male workers.

According to a report by Malay daily Kosmo!, Director of the Selangor Fire and Rescue Department, Norazam Khamis said they received an emergency call at 7.14 pm concerning the event and three engines and nine personnel from the Sungai Buloh Fire and Rescue Station were rushed to the scene.

"The three victims are Bangladeshi workers aged between 20 and 40 years old. All of them were reportedly doing work under the structure.

"Based on initial reports, the concrete structure that was under construction collapsed from a height of 12m, causing three workers who were working under the structure to be injured," Norazam said in a statement here today.

The three suffered only light injuries and have been brought to Sungai Buloh Hospital for treatment.
