SINGAPORE (July 5): A 16-year-old teenager who had his first Covid-19 vaccination jab six days ago was found collapsed at home after a weightlifting session, reported The Straits Times.

Singapore Ministry of Health (MOH) said the teenager is now in the intensive care unit at National University Hospital. He received his first dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech/Comirnaty Covid-19 vaccine on June 27.

On July 3, he went to the gym to lift weights and he was found collapsed at home later that morning, and was taken to the emergency department at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital. He was transferred to NUH later that evening.

According to the news report, the preliminary diagnosis of his condition is an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest.

MOH will work with the medical team in NUH to determine if the incident might be linked to the teen's Covid-19 vaccination.
