KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 3): Bollywood beauty and star Shilpa Shetty’s (pictured) mother is reported to have “registered a cheating complaint” with the police over a “Rs1.6 crore” (RM909,129) land deal.

The Hindustan Times reported that Sunanda Shetty alleged that a Sudhakar Ghare “sold her a plot at Karjat in Raigad district for Rs1.6 crore by lying to her that the land belonged to him”.

The Mumbai police revealed that Ghare met Sunanda in 2019 and showed her a plot of land in Karjat that the former planned to sell.

Sunanda later found out that the land belonged to someone else. Sunanda then reported to the authorities about the scam when Ghare threatened her after he was confronted over the “deal”.

Shashikant Mane, senior inspector of Juhu police station said the local police are tracing Ghare who is on the run.

“We are also verifying the purchase documents submitted by Sunanda Shetty before the court,” Mane told Hindustan Times.
