SETIA ALAM (Aug 23): Another milestone is achieved as the mega vaccination centre (PPV) Setia City Convention Centre ceased its operations on Aug 22.

Operating since June 7, the PPV is provided by its developer, S P Setia Bhd and managed by the Covid-19 Immunisation Task Force (CITF) and the Covid-19 Vaccine Supply Access Guarantee Special Committee (JKJAV). Additionally, they are supported by the combined efforts of public servants, medical personnel and Team Setia volunteers as part of the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme.

Over 500,000 doses of Covid-19 were administered here throughout its operations.

Speaking at the closing ceremony on Aug 22, S P Setia executive vice president Datuk Seri Koe Peng Kang thanked the staff and volunteers of the PPV for willing to take risks and contribute to the nation.

“You are the legacy and a shining example of what Malaysia can achieve together,” Koe said his speech.

Also present at the ceremony were Petaling District officer Datuk Johary Anuar, PPV Setia City Convention Centre manager Dr Sofwan Albar, Petaling Health district public health physician Dr Faridah Amin and Brig. Gen. Datuk (Dr) Zulkifli Zainal Abidin.

Datuk Johary presented certificates of appreciation to the representatives of the volunteers and agencies involved.

Meanwhile, S P Setia Foundation distributed Malaysian-themed snack packs as a token of appreciation to frontliners and volunteers at the Covid-19 vaccination centres.

The initiative saw more than 2,300 servings of Malaysian snacks and desserts distributed to approximately 1,060 frontliners and volunteers of the PPVs offered by S P Setia in the central region, namely Setia EcoHill Club 360 in Semenyih, Setia Eco Templer Clubhouse in Rawang and Setia City Convention Centre in Setia Alam.

The snacks and desserts are purchased from the B40 community to support those in need through this initiative.
