Malaysia reports 19,733 new Covid-19 cases on Sept 8; third consecutive day below 20,000 mark

KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 8): A total of 19,733 new Covid-19 infections were reported in Malaysia today, the third consecutive day of falling below the 20,000 mark.

The latest cases were up by 6.4% from the 18,547 Covid-19 cases reported the day before.

Sarawak remained as the state with the most daily cases at 3,100, while Selangor recorded 2,989 cases and Penang had 2,474 cases, Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah tweeted.

In all, Malaysia has registered 1.9 million confirmed Covid-19 cases.
