PETALING JAYA (Sept 10): Gamuda Land will be launching the first phase of Gardens Square, comprising 19 double and three-storey shops and 19 office lots in Gamuda Gardens, Rawang in October.
In a press statement, Gamuda reveals that three anchor tenants are in the pipeline, which include an established grocer occupying more than 20,000 sq ft as well as a double-storey drive-through fast food franchise.
“The area features a ready catchment population of 340,000 residents within a 15-minute drive. Spending priorities for these households are groceries, essentials and food, and Gardens Square’s tenant mix is specifically tailored for these segments, bringing in fresh retail and F&B (food and beverage) options for the community,” said Gamuda Gardens assistant general manager Wong Siew Lee.
Gardens Square covers 6.7 acres (2.71ha) and, once completed, will feature 133 double- and triple-storey shop and office lots. It will also provide car-free lanes, and emphasises walkability and bike-ability. Greenery and trees will line spaces called The Street, The Alley and other common areas, providing covering from the sun and rain while cooling ambient temperatures.
There will also be photovoltaic panels installed to deliver renewable energy, and electric vehicle (EV) charger points in basement parking zones encouraging the use of sustainable modes of transport.
Moreover, Gardens Square leverages Klang Valley North’s strategic location, ensuring the right components are in place to accommodate growing investor, business and residential demographics, the developer said.
Dedicated lanes emphasise walkability and bike-ability along Gardens Square's tree-lined avenues.
These include the 68-acre Gamuda Gardens City Centre, comprising amenities such as a mall, office tower, hospital, hospitality components, as well as the 9.1-acre Beaconhouse International School, which will bring the Cambridge international curriculum at the primary, secondary and IGCSE levels to the township. The gravity-fuelled Skyline Luge activity park will also be sited here.
In addition, the township’s Xploria place-making initiative brings attractions such as the Big Bucket Splash water play park, donut boat rides in the Central Park and a horseback riding trail by 3Q Equestrian.
Wong: We take into account not just commercial potential but needs of future generations.
Gardens Square is sited within a five-minute walk from the nearby Gaia Residences and the upcoming Gamuda Gardens City Centre, as well as Sports Arena. An e-tram service will also facilitate travel among Gaia Residences, Gardens Square, GGCC and Gamuda Gardens’ Waterfront Village.
Accessibility to the area is via the North-South Expressway, Guthrie Corridor Expressway and Kuala Lumpur-Selangor Expressway.
