KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 13): Kumpulan Wang Persaraan (Diperbadankan) (KWAP) today welcomed the appointment of Hizzan Hamid (pictured) as the new chief executive officer (CEO) of its property arm KWEST Sdn Bhd, effective Sept 1.

His appointment follows the departure of former KWEST CEO Sufian Abdullah, according to a statement by KWAP today.

Hizzan was previously the executive director of business development of Gamuda Land, with experience in managing land acquisition and commercial real estate.

“His professional career in the property field spans across 14 years in local and international acquisitions, as well as facilitating joint ventures (JVs) between top property development companies and government-linked organisations.

“Hizzan also previously held a leading position in Sunway Property in business development and land bank, and Malaysia Property Incorporated (MPI) in bringing foreign direct investment (FDI) into the Malaysian property market,” according to the statement.

KWEST is a wholly-owned subsidiary of KWAP established in 2017 and is its special purpose investment platform for real estate development.

KWEST's leading projects include master-planned seafront development Seri Tanjung Pinang Phase 2A (STP2A) in Penang, and industrial and logistics hub COMPASS @ KSL in Kota Seri Langat, Selangor.
