
KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 20): Malaysia's daily number of reported Covid-19-related deaths rose to 376 yesterday (Sept 19) from 324 a day earlier (Sept 18), bringing the country’ total pandemic-linked fatalities to 23,443 so far, according to the Ministry of Health’s (MoH) latest updates.
The ministry said that out of the 376 deaths yesterday, 75 were brought-in-dead (BID) cases.
According to the MoH, the 75 BID cases raised the nation’s Covid-19-linked BID tally to 4,472 so far.
Yesterday, Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said in a statement that Malaysia's new Covid-19 cases fell to 14,954 from 15,549 the day before.
The latest reported daily figure brought the cumulative number of Covid-19 infections in the country to about 2.1 million so far, Dr Noor Hisham added.
The 14,954 new cases yesterday were a decline from 21,176 seen on Sept 10, he said.
