SINGAPORE (Sept 20): Some 35,800 tenants and owner-occupiers in Singapore will receive the second Rental Support Scheme (RSS) payouts by the Singapore government on Sept 22, reported Business Times today.

The report, citing Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore and Ministry of Finance’s press release, said the latest round of payouts totalled over S$200 million (RM620 million).

Under the RSS, the government pays out rent support to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and eligible non-profit organisations (NPOs) directly, without going through their landlords.

Earlier in August 6, Singapore government has disbursed the first round of RSS, with the latest round of payouts, the allocation totalled to over S$400 million.

According to the report, SMEs and eligible NPOs with annual revenue not exceeding S$100 million, and are tenants or owner-occupiers of qualifying commercial properties are able to receive a payout equivalent to half a month's rent for the July 22 to Aug 18 period.
