KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 23): Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin (pictured) has given a “not so gentle reminder” to his colleagues to mask up during meetings.

In an Instagram Stories posting, he noted that many of his colleagues are being seen in photos at meetings without masks on.

“Many politicians have diabetes, hypertension and are probably obese. If you get [Covid-19], even with the vaccine, it’s not going to be fun and games.

“The UK is experiencing a wave, in part, because of their obstinate refusal to mask up. Don’t be [like] the UK. Just mask up,” said the minister.

The UK recorded more than 50,000 new cases on Oct 21 — the first time the level was breached since July 17.

Meanwhile, Malaysia reported 5,828 new infections on Oct 23, after seeing two consecutive days of above 6,000 daily cases.
