JOHOR (Dec 14): Johor is intending to address the state’s housing issues by collaborating with property developers to build up to 115,000 affordable homes through the Special Johor Housing Programme, according to a report by New Straits Times.

115,000 affordable houses are intended to be built through the Special Johor Housing Programme as the state’s Housing and Local Government Committee chairman Ayub Jamil shared that 153,000 units of affordable units have been pending for the last 24 years despite developers receiving planning approval.

“The Rumah Johor’s main feature is a home of high quality and value . The prototype house constructed is a comfortable yet conducive home for residence,” he stated in a statement cited by the New Straits Times.

With prices under the programme to range from RM80,000 to RM300,000, the Rumah Johor includes Rumah Makmur, Rumah Bandar Johor, pangsapuri Ihsan Johor, Pangsapuri Johor and Rumah Transit Johor.
