PETALING JAYA (Dec 22): With Christmas just around the corner and the New Year fast approaching, the festive season is felt everywhere with shopping malls in the Klang Valley having transformed their space into a Christmas wonderland.

With the relaxed measures, the holiday season this year seems more meaningful and livelier as we catch up with family and friends. However, as always, don’t forget to maintain the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in check. Safe distancing, after all, is key.

That aside, with the festive atmosphere palpable, EdgeProp.my paid a visit to the following shopping malls: Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, Suria KLCC, 1 Utama Shopping Centre and Pavilion Bukit Jalil.

Pavilion Kuala Lumpur

While New York City has its annual Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center during this time of the year, Malaysia has its very own Pavilion Bukit Bintang when it comes to impressive Christmas decorations. Every year, Pavilion Bukit Bintang puts up a grand Christmas display; this year’s isn’t a letdown either. The mall’s decorations begin from its foyer where reindeers and gold-coloured polar bears greet you at the entrance. Entering the mall is akin to entering a Winter Wonderland with snowmen, reindeers, gingerbread houses and Christmas trees.

Pavilion Bukit Jalil

The newly-opened mall, which launched in early December this year, is just in time to flaunt its Christmas decorations amidst the fast-approaching Christmas season. Here, adorable penguins set the scene for a magical Christmas, while a snow tunnel offers the perfect spot for an Instagram-worthy picture. A whimsical carousel has also been set up for the public to enjoy.

Suria KLCC

At Suria KLCC, the Christmas decorations here gravitate towards the more traditional colour theme of red and green. Keeping in line with the theme, Suria KLCC’s decorations feature a log cabin, Santa’s cottage, as well as antique-style steam trains.

1 Utama Shopping Centre

Meanwhile in 1 Utama, the shopping mall shows us what it’s like to celebrate Christmas a community. Here, the mall has put up European-style cottages surrounded by Christmas trees. In the centre, a nearly-three-storey tall Christmas tree stands out from the crowd.
