PETALING JAYA (Dec 21): IOI Properties Group Bhd announced the opening of its Palm Garden Hotel in Putrajaya, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel. The 151-room hotel – including 14 suites – is located in the heart of the 788-acre IOI Resort City, Putrajaya.

According to a statement on Tuesday (Dec 21), the opening of the hotel marks the brand debut of Marriott Bonvoy’s Tribute portfolio in Malaysia.

IOI Properties Group CEO Datuk Voon Tin Yow said that Palm Garden Hotel is one of the developer’s many world-class brand hotels.

He also highlighted that IOI Properties Group’s relationship with Marriott International has grown since 2002, with the opening of Putrajaya Marriott Hotel. “Marriott International is renowned for its service and quality excellence; traits that we value very much and are in line with our vision of Trusted.. Marriott International's solid brand positioning and presence, as well as its values of pursuing excellence and embracing innovation will surely augur well for Palm Garden Hotel, Putrajaya, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel.”

The hotel draws inspiration from its verdant and flora-filled surroundings and each guest room overlooks the lush greenery of the resort city, and equipped with a plush settee, LCD television, working desk, shower, mini bar fridge, in-room safe, iron, ironing board, as well as coffee and tea making facilities.

Palm Garden Hotel offers easy access to IOI City Mall, one of the largest shopping malls in Malaysia, as well as the prestigious 18-hole Palm Garden Golf Club. The hotel is easily accessible from other regional and international destinations as it is connected to major highways and is within a 35-minute drive from the Kuala Lumpur International Airport.

It is also a suitable venue for business events and social gatherings as it has over 22,000 sq ft of flexible indoor meeting space. The hotel also offers 11 multifunctional event spaces, inclusive of a grand ballroom that is over 6,000 sq ft. Rafflesia, the pillar-less grand ballroom features a raindrop inspired chandelier with a built-in stage and can accommodate up to 500 guests in a theatre setting. For more intimate events, the garden or poolside venue can host up to 100 guests.

Other amenities include two large outdoor swimming pools and a recreation centre that houses a gymnasium and sauna. Additionally, the expansive spaces that surround the hotel are dotted with built-in team building obstacle courses, suitable for corporate events. The hotel also features two signature restaurants (Palms Café and Aroi Dee), and a bar (Courtyard Bar).
