PETALING JAYA (Jan 27): Amy Wong has joined Knight Frank Malaysia as its executive director of research and consultancy. She started on Jan 1.

According to a statement on Thursday (Jan 27), Wong will be leading the team in a wide variety of consulting projects, alongside Knight Frank Malaysia executive director of research and consultancy Judy Ong.

Wong specialises in master planning development consultancy, especially in highest and best use studies for a range of traditional and emerging asset classes. She also presents investment advisory services to local and foreign investor groups and provides independent market reports for initial public offering (IPO) listing submissions.

Knight Frank Malaysia managing director Sarkunan Subramaniam is proud to welcome Wong on board, and stated that her extensive experience and innate understanding of the local market will be invaluable in helping clients make informed property decisions.

Wong said: “In these unusual times, there is an even greater need to combine measured research and strategic analysis to ensure the sustainability of each real estate project. Knight Frank Malaysia is known in the market for its strong multidisciplinary service offerings, and I am excited to join the team. I am certainly looking forward to continue building upon Knight Frank’s research and consultancy capabilities and working alongside such high-calibre professionals to provide our clients with market-leading advisory and streamlined consulting services.”

Before joining Knight Frank Malaysia, Wong was the director and head of research and consultancy at an international property advisory firm in Kuala Lumpur and the head of market research and analytics at Sunway Property, with responsibilities that included setting up the property developer’s in-house property think tank and establishing both strategic research and planning initiatives in driving senior management decisions. Her corporate stint gave her first-hand insights into client-side requirements, the clarity of which is reflected in her consulting advisory. She has also worked for CBRE and Colliers, and has a background in corporate valuation.
