PETALING JAYA (Feb 7): Boustead Properties aims to build affordable homes that are sustainable and environmentally friendly, driven with technological solutions, according to a report by The Malaysian Reserve.

In its report by the news portal, Boustead Properties goal for 2022 is to focus on digitalisation efforts by introducing a new in-house digital and technology services unit.

Chief operating officer, Eason Phan said that the need for digitalisation effort within the company is needed as the Covid-19 pandemic has altered people’s need and the business ecosystem as a whole.

The new in-house digital and technology services unit is responsible for implementing group-wide solutions to enhance operational efficiency, transform products and services, elevate customer experience and empower its employees.

“In terms of our medium to long-term growth, we will emphasise strategic sustainable plans that can positively contribute towards the National Fourth Industrial Revolution, MyDigital (Malaysia Digital Economy Blueprint) (including 5G rollout), affordable housing, education and climate change,” said Phan quoted by The Malaysian Reserve.

“By doing so, Boustead Properties will also be able to achieve our own sustainable goals as envisioned under the global United Nations Sustainable Development Goals,” he told The Malaysian Reserve.

Besides that, Boustead Properties is also looking into acquiring prime land in Greater Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Johor and Penang. Currently, its landbank size stands at 1,400 acres with parcels in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor and Johor.

In line with its environmental and sustainable goals, Boustead Properties will be launching more products in its Mutiara Hills township in Semenyih, Selangor. The latest soft-launch was Balau Home Phase 1A2 in January 2022.

In 2021, the township received a provisional Green-RE certification.

Phan added that the company has more plans for the township where it wants to explore more environment-friendly features.
