Rob Lowe’s Montecito home has a new owner – Adam Levine

Besides being the frontman for American pop rock band Maroon 5, Adam Levine is a dab hand in the real estate industry, having reaped millions (US$) of appreciation returns from several properties across the country since 2012.

Among the latest, Levine and his wife, South African supermodel, Behati Prinsloo, have picked up American actor, producer, director, and podcaster Rob Lowe’s former family home in Montecito, California, USA, says TopTenRealEstateDeals.com.

The Georgian Colonial-style abode exchanged hands for US$52 million (RM220.14 million). Lowe had sold the property to healthcare executive Jack McGinley in 2020 for $44.5 million, translating to a US$7.5 million profit in a mere two years for the latter. 

The 10,000 sq ft home sits on a sprawling 3.5 acres of land. Built in 2009, it was designed by architect Don Nulty to resemble Lowe’s hometown in Charlottesville, Virginia. 

From within, the white-coated house is permeated with California sunshine and Pacific ocean view. It has six bedrooms, eleven bathrooms, large open formal rooms, a huge brightly lit family kitchen, a separate catering kitchen, a wine room, multiple living and dining areas, and a professional theatre. 

The list continues with an office, library-music room with bar and family room. The expansive master suite boasts an indoor fireplace – one among eight others. Added to the charm are details like vaulted ceilings, handmade crown mouldings, custom millwork, and view-framing windows. 

As expected, the outdoors also presents a myriad of facilities, with a full-fledged living room complete with a wood-burning fireplace, koi pond, large swimming pool, and a tennis court with a viewing area. The rolling lawns and gardens are so vast they can accommodate team sports activities. 

Also on the grounds are a two-bedroom guest house and a one bedroom pool house with staff quarters, plus an outdoor kitchen.
