CYBERJAYA (June 7): The Selangor State Development (PKNS) handed over 864 units to the new owners of Residensi Idaman Selangorku at Selangor Cyber Valley today.

The Residensi Idaman Selangorku is a project by PKNS to support the National Affordable Housing Policy.

The units are housed in two apartment blocks on a 14.41-acre site. With a built-up size of 1,000 sq ft, it comes with three bedrooms and two bathrooms with an allocation of two parking lots per unit. It is priced at RM232,000.

The handover ceremony was officiated by Rodziah Ismail, Selangor state Exco of Housing, Urban Wellbeing and Entrepreneurs Development.

During the ceremony, she acknowledged that affordability is a big concern, thus the state government has introduced several initiatives to improve homeownership.

“Owning a home can be a challenge for many, with housing affordability being the major concern. With that in mind, the Selangor State Government, in an effort to promote a competitive economy, has introduced a range of initiatives to provide and improve access to affordable housing,” said Rodziah.

Besides offering affordable housing, PKNS has also incorporated the element of inclusivity into the project.

“With the objective of supporting the B40 community in Selangor to settle into homes of their own, Residensi Idaman Selangorku has gone beyond mere brick and mortar,” said PKNS chief executive officer Datuk Mahmud Abbas.

“Many aspects were taken into consideration to foster a united community and an inclusive living environment with amenities and facilities to enhance the wellbeing of its residents.”

Among them, the project has incorporated four units fitted with purpose-built wheelchair-friendly platforms throughout the apartment with the objective of providing easy accessibility for the differently-abled.

Residensi Idaman Selangorku is situated near the Kuala Lumpur International Airport, with easy access to North–South Expressway Central Link (ELITE), Putrajaya Link and South Klang Valley Expressway (SKVE).
