PETALING JAYA (June 21): Tropicana Corp Bhd has launched the Tropicana WindCity development on June 16 at an event held at the Tropicana Golf & Country Resort.

Situated on a 596-acre site in Genting Highlands, Tropicana WindCity will be anchored by Tropicana Paradise, comprising 308 acres of commercial and residential components as well as a 38-acre integrated entertainment hub with proposed branded serviced residences, five-star international branded hotels, a theme park and a shopping mall.

Additionally, the hub’s pull factors include 1 million sq ft of retail spaces and 1.5 million sq ft of entertainment attractions, with planned amenities such as an indoor theme park, convention centre, multi-level glass tower and international themed gardens and dining facilities.

The Tropicana WindCity master plan will also be complemented by Tropicana Grandhill, a 112-acre offering with a proposed wellness hub and silver hair village; and Tropicana Avalon, a 176-acre township with serviced and branded residences, hospitality facilities and a villa resort, as well as a proposed forest park and eco adventure components.

“We plan to build a holistic retail, recreational and residential oasis at the mid-hill of Genting Highlands. Tropicana WindCity is envisioned with Tropicana Paradise as the catalyst, offering an entertainment haven at the heart of the township,” Tropicana group managing director Dion Tan said in a statement.

“This vibrant blueprint will chart a new growth horizon for the group and mark our first marketing expansion into the international market across the Asia Pacific region.

“So far, we have registered interest from various companies, underscoring the rising interest in this highland development. This is where we look forward to and invite more exciting collaborations in the near future,” said Tan.

Furthermore, Tropicana WindCity also seeks to adopt sustainable modes of transportation, including cable car and electric tram systems, as well as elevated pedestrian walkways designed with ease of connectivity in mind. This is in line with Tropicana’s focus on environmental, social and governance (ESG) principles.

Meanwhile, Tropicana also unveiled T Privilege – an improved loyalty programme anchored by the Tropicana 360 mobile application – at the event.

T Privilege features five tiers of membership, namely privé, priority, gold, platinum and diamond, offering incentives such as special rebates on property purchases, referral cash rewards, priority invitations to launches and lifestyle events, special privileges at Tropicana Golf & Country Resort and complimentary lifestyle updates through Tropicana Magazine.

Members can also leverage the programme’s 65 merchant partners and brands, specially curated for the unveiling with plans to offer more exciting merchants in the future.
