KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 11): Raja Nazirin Shah Raja Mohamad has been appointed as the chief executive officer of Al-`Aqar Healthcare REIT and Al-Salam Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) effective from Wednesday (Jan 11).

Both REITs are managed by Damansara REIT Managers Sdn Bhd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Johor Corporation and supported by KPJ Healthcare Bhd.

Raja Nazirin Shah, 59, had stepped down as the CEO of AmFIRST REIT on Dec 1 last year. He remains as the CEO of AmREIT Managers Sdn Bhd.

Raja Nazirin Shah had previously served as vice-president and head of commercial at PNB Merdeka Ventures Sdn Bhd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Permodalan Nasional Bhd, from January 2018 to April 2019.

He was also chief operating officer of PNB Commercial Sdn Bhd from August 2011 to 2019.

Raja Nazirin had a long stint at Malaysian Resources Corp Bhd group of properties, where he was the group general manager of sales, marketing and asset management from December 2000 to June 2011.

His other experiences in the property industries are head of operation at Damansara Harta Management Sdn Bhd from August 1997 to November 2000, assistant vice-president of FIMA group of companies from June 1994 to July 1997.

He has also worked in the valuation and property services department under the Ministry of Finance from October 1990 to May 1994.

On Wednesday, Al-`Aqar Healthcare REIT units settled unchanged at RM1.24, valuing the REIT at RM938.04 million.

Al-Salam REIT also closed unchanged at 37 sen, with a market capitalisation of RM211.7 million.
