Binasat’s unit bags RM18.4m subcontract job to build solar PV facility for Sunview Group

KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 17): Binasat Communications Bhd’s unit has secured an RM18.36 million subcontract work to build a large scale solar photovoltaic facility in Selangor for Fabulous Sunview Sdn Bhd, a wholly-owned unit of newly-listed Sunview Group Bhd.

Binasat said its 51%-owned unit Borderless Connection Sdn Bhd is tasked to undertake engineering works, equipment supply, civil construction, installation works, testing and commissioning works for the facility.

The project is scheduled to complete by end-September this year, with targeted commercial operation by end-2023, subject to the execution of a supplementary power purchase agreement, said Binasat in a stock exchange filing on Tuesday (Jan 17).

Shares of Binasat closed one sen or 3.9% higher at 26.5 sen, giving it a market capitalisation of RM102.9 million.
