‘Pink’ home that once belonged to Zsa Zsa Gabor listed for US$3.8m

KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 27): A custom-built house that used to belong to screen siren of the olden days aka the Golden Age of Hollywood, Zsa Zsa Gabor, and her sister Magda, is on the market for US$3.8 million (RM16.7 million), according to a report by TopTenRealEstateDeals.com.

The home that stands out with its pink paint job is located in Palm Springs, California, a popular haven for celebrities.

Born in Hungary (1917), she moved with another of her sisters, Eva, to Hollywood in 1941 to seek stardom.

She competed in beauty pageants, appeared in films such as as Moulin Rouge and We’re Not Married! and made numerous television appearances.

According to TopTenRealEstateDeals.com, she married nine times including to hotel magnate Conrad Hilton and actor George Sanders.

On the pink property, the real estate website describes a covered veranda that looks out on a mosaic-tiled, full-sized pool.

"Black-and-gold, hand-carved double doors stand out against the bubblegum pink exterior. The sweeping living and dining rooms offer elegant chandeliers, mirrored walls, and a grand piano,” it added.  

The spacious suite includes a sitting room-cum-office, a dressing room, a makeup room, dual vanities, a shower and an oversized relaxing tub.

“Two additional bedrooms and bathrooms each has its own unique style.”

Meanwhile, the kitchen, framed by glass cabinets, has Viking appliances as well as an original Hungarian rotisserie beneath a distinctive gold-trowled ceiling.

Also included is an artificial grass and stone patio that “is easy to maintain and eco-friendly”.

Surrounded by palm trees and "backed up" against the mountains, the 3,441-sq ft home “offers unparalleled privacy”.

As for amenities, “Copleys on Palm Canyon, an award-winning restaurant at the former estate of Clark Gable, plus numerous other shops, restaurants, boutiques, and architecturally and culturally significant homes are within a short drive”.
