PETALING JAYA (March 29): In the spirit of the Ramadhan month, Tropicana Golf & Country Resort brought out its delicious and famous Santapan 28 Malam and also invited 100 children from three orphanage homes to break fast.

Besides tucking in to the resort’s celebrated Santapan 29 Malam – Selera Muhibbah Iftar buffet, the children also receiving duit raya while their homes got cash donations.

The orphans were from Rumah Perlindungan Safiyyah, Pusat Jagaan Amal Asyura and Pertubuhan Kebajikan Ehsan Ash-Shakur. The event was held in line with the environmental, social and corporate governance principles of Tropicana Corp Bhd’s charity arm, Tropicana Foundation.

Santapan 29 Malam – Selera Muhibbah Iftar buffet is a sumptuous spread that offers both traditional fare and international cuisine, ranging from asam pedas daging and ikan tenggiri masak singgang to lamb marmite, oden noodles and chicken tandoori. The ayam & daging gulai kawah is the signature dish, “with succulent, tender beef brimming with fragrant savoury, spicy notes”, stated Tropicana Corp Bhd.  A version with chicken was added this year, for diners who prefer white meat.

“The month of Ramadhan brings ample opportunity for reflection and appreciation. With Tropicana’s focus on reaching out to those in need as we Redefine the Art of Caring, we brought underprivileged children and their caretakers to Tropicana Golf & Country Resort, where we pioneered resort-style development in 1992.

“Surrounded by the warmth and hospitality of our signature kampung-style dining, we invited them to break their fast with over 300 dishes and live cooking stations, while supporting each home with cash donations,” said executive director of Tropicana Corp, Allan Wong Weng Keong.

“The charitable initiative underscored Tropicana’s commitment to engaging with and uplifting underprivileged segments of society. In 2022, Tropicana Foundation channelled RM3 million to charitable causes across Malaysia,” stated Tropicana in a media release.

As for Santapan 29 Malam – Selera Muhibbah, the Iftar buffet will run till April 21 and include highlights such as ghazal performances, authentic traditional décor including a real kampung house as an entrance statement, a new central surau and ample free parking with buggy shuttle service.
