KUALA LUMPUR (April 5): Battersea Power Station has “welcomed” more than five million visitors since its official public opening on Oct 14 last year.

“It has been brilliant to see so many people visiting the new riverside neighbourhood we have created here at Battersea Power Station over the past six months,” said Simon Murphy, CEO at Battersea Power Station Development Co (BPSDC).

“It was the aim of our shareholders to give the much-loved Power Station a new lease of life and to open it up for the public to enjoy. To have welcomed more than five million people down since the landmark opened has been a huge achievement and we look forward to welcoming more visitors throughout 2023 to discover the new stores opening, a greater food and drink offering, as well as lots of unique and family friendly events,” Murphy added.

Battersea Power Station has seen more than 20 new shops, eateries and leisure venue openings since its public launch.

Also since opening in November 2022, Battersea Power Station’s “chimney lift experience” Lift 109 has transported visitors to the top of the Grade II* listed building’s north west chimney to soak up the beautiful 360 degree views approximately 7,029 times.

More exciting brand openings within Battersea Power Station and on Electric Boulevard, a new pedestrianised high street, will take place over the coming months including LEGO®, MALIN+GOETZ, Office Shoes, Bloobloom, A.P.C, NOBULL and Bounce.

Highly anticipated Arcade Food Hall, a 24,000 sq ft dining experience will be opening with three standalone restaurants, including award-winning Taiwanese restaurant BAO, and cocktail bar.

Further bars and eateries opening at Battersea Power Station include the UK’s first tashas, serving timeless café classics with a South African twist, Dishoom, Noci Pasta, and Searcys, who will be opening a permanent bar following a successful pop-up inside the building.

“To have had lots of new brands setting up shop at Battersea Power Station in a challenging retail market, clearly demonstrates the appeal of this project,” said Sam Cotton, head of Asset Management at BPSDC.

Meanwhile, the riverside neighbourhood’s Spring Festival started at the weekend and will be running until April 16 with an exciting line up of family-friendly activities including a free giant flower trail, Mobile Farm, face painting, a special visit from Colin The Caterpillar™, and outdoor games.
