KUALA LUMPUR (April 20): Crowne Estate Malaysia has partnered with French hospitality group Accor to open Swissôtel Genting Highlands, set to launch in the third quarter of 2028.

The 30-storey hotel will be a part of King’s Park in Genting Highlands; a development by Highlands ParkCity in partnership with Yuk Tung Group and CrownHie Estate Malaysia. 

It will be located at an altitude of 3,000 feet that includes a 300-room property, conference facilities, and grand ballroom with a 15-minute drive away to the Genting Highlands summit.

“It is a huge step forward for Highland ParkCity and Crowne Estate Malaysia in their goal to make the King's Park in Genting Highlands into an eco-friendly tourist and destination hub for people all over the world,” said Sean Chen, chief operating officer of Crowne Estate in a joint statement on Wednesday (April 19).

Garth Simmons, chief executive officer of Accor for South & Southeast Asia, Japan, South Korea and India added that the signing of Swissôtel Genting Highlands will bring in the Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts brand to Malaysia.

“The signing of Swissôtel Genting Highlands in one of the most popular destinations in the country for locals and tourists alike, further strengthens Accor’s leading position in Malaysia's hospitality industry.”

Thanesh Jayandren, executive director of Highlands ParkCity also said: “Visitors from all over the world will be able to enjoy a broad variety of events, shows, cultural arts, and delectable cuisine at this development because of its focus on entertainment, international attractions, and eco-tourism.”

Additionally, the statement read that beyond Swissôtel Genting Highlands, there will be 44,515 sq m of exquisite villas and bungalows, as well as 96,000 sq m of stylish residences and serviced apartments, all of which will be in Crowne Estate Genting Highlands. The development will span a 156,419 sq m project with a remarkable gross development value of over RM3 billion.
