KUALA LUMPUR (April 25): PRG Holdings Bhd has appointed former Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) director of financial inclusion department Datin Arlina Ariff (pictured) as a new independent and non-executive director, effective from April 20.

According to PRG, Arlina, who served the central bank from September 2000 to July 2022, has 25 years of experience in the banking, finance and economics industries.

During her tenure at BNM, Arlina also served in several other departments, including the human capital development centre, economics department, and monetary analysis and strategy department.

PRG group executive vice-chairman Datuk Lua Choon Hann said Arlina brings "significant" value to the group with her past working experiences and senior roles in the country’s banking and finance sectors.

“Her talent and experience make her an accomplished business leader, and we look forward to her contributions to PRG,” he said.

PRG is primarily engaged in the property development, construction, manufacturing, and agriculture businesses. The group expanded into the energy efficiency business by acquiring Singapore-based Energy Solution Global Ltd in 2021 through its 50.45%-owned subsidiary Furniweb Holdings Ltd.
