- The MOU between TSSB and solar photovoltaic (PV) service provider Micro Energy Holdings (M) Sdn Bhd (MEH), aims to create a greener and energy-efficient living for homebuyers.
KUALA LUMPUR (April 26): Teladan Setia Group Bhd via its wholly-owned subsidiary Teladan Setia Sdn Bhd (TSSB) has inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to install solar PV systems in its Taman Bertam Heights Phase 2A Gated and Guarded housing development project in Melaka.
The MOU between TSSB and solar photovoltaic (PV) service provider Micro Energy Holdings (M) Sdn Bhd (MEH), aims to create a greener and energy-efficient living for homebuyers.
According to Teladan Setia's statement on Wednesday (April 26), the group will install solar PV systems ranging from 2 KWp to 4KWp for 352 housing units within the said development. These solar-ready homes are expected to significantly reduce electricity costs for homeowners, potentially resulting in savings of up to 75%, it said.
The company has appointed MEH — which has extensive experience in delivering comprehensive solar PV system solutions for residential, commercial and industrial users — as the turnkey engineering, procurement and commissioning provider for the project.
“We are proud to be the pioneer of green development in Melaka by being the first property developer to install solar systems for home buyers. In conjunction with the Malaysian Government’s Net Energy Metering Rakyat 3.0 programme, we are committed to playing our part in the nation’s sustainability efforts by offering solar-ready homes. Our solar-ready homes are designed to demonstrate that sustainability can be integrated seamlessly into every aspect of sustainable living, serving as an exemplary model for future developments,” Teladan Setia’s executive director Francis Sia Ah Piew commented.
The housing development project is expected to be launched in the third quarter ending Sept 30, 2023 (3QFY2023) and to be completed by 2026.
Teladan Setia’s share price was unchanged at RM1.18 on Wednesday, valuing the Melaka-based property developer at RM954.17 million.
