• Chief executive officer Eddie Lee: ORESB has advanced over the years and succeeded in opening many branches in Malaysia. Our organisation is currently one of Malaysia's biggest real estate agencies with more than 12 locations and 800 negotiators working around the country

KUALA LUMPUR (June 12): With more than three decades of experience in its belt, Oriental Real Estate Sdn Bhd (ORESB) is, without doubt, one of the premier real estate agencies in the country. But it does not plan to stop there. Instead, there is a continuous pursuit to grow bigger by adding more services and crossing borders.

“ORESB has advanced over the years and succeeded in opening many branches in Malaysia. Our organisation is currently one of Malaysia's biggest real estate agencies with more than 12 locations and 800 negotiators working around the country. ORESB has undoubtedly established itself as a prominent player in the real estate agency business by creating a nationwide network,” says chief executive officer Eddie Lee.

Not satisfied with just the local market, ORESB has also expanded to foreign shores. It has collaborated with Savills and Huttons Group in Singapore; Knight Knox and Qudoss in the UK; premium property players in Australia; and ERA Taiwan.

“The key to ORESB's success is to look to the global market, with the goal of expanding to the international realm. Besides that, our new divisions like property management, MM2H and mortgage have allowed us to widen our clientele base and provide greater exposure to our brand name in the real estate market,” he explains.

“As for 2023, we are marketing UK developments in Malaysia, such as Arthouse Square, Liverpool; The Exchange Hotel, Cardiff; and Platinum One, Bradford,” reveals Lee.

Along the way, ORESB also added a feather in its cap when Bloomberg Television selected ORESB as one of the winners of the Asia Pacific Property Awards back in 2011.

Hands-on leadership

ORESB was founded and incorporated with the Board of Valuers, Appraisers, Estate Agents and Property Managers in March 1988. In May 1989, ORESB became a member of the Malaysia Institute of Estate Agents.

Currently, ORESB’s list of professional services includes residential, commercial, industrial, corporate real estate, property investment and feasibility studies and consultation.

ORESB’s achievements are no doubt in part attributed to Lee’s leadership, who is a hands-on head.

“I started several new divisions, which are the international marketing, property management, construction & renovation and Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H).

“Besides that, my duties include determining the company's strategic direction, managing general operations and making significant business decisions.”

Skilled, trained and knowledgeable agents

Lee said ORESB’s agents and negotiators are chosen for their dedication to success and desire to work in a winning team.

“Our negotiators are skilled, well trained and knowledgeable in matching properties to the right clients. In keeping with one of our key values of ‘innovation’, our company offers thorough training and development to our negotiators, led by a collaboration with NKL College and also via internal training and development. ORESB is qualified and in a good position to offer domestic and foreign clients comprehensive and targeted property services,” says Lee.

“We strive to uphold our core values as a team, to remain original and innovative in all the sectors we undertake, and to train and champion reliable realtors who are committed towards empowering people first.

“In doing so, my ultimate goal is to build a long-lasting future partnership with our clients, providing them with a one-stop solution platform that is capable of fulfilling all their real estate needs,” he adds.

Talent, expertise, technology and purpose with strategic partnerships

The combination of talent, expertise, technology, purpose plus strategic partnerships are essential to providing better customer service. So, Lee sees the collaboration with EdgeProp as a step in the right direction to enhancing business results in the real estate industry.

“EdgeProp is Malaysia's most helpful real estate website, focusing on arming users with information. I believe that by cooperating with EdgeProp, our company may achieve the widest reach throughout Malaysia, helping us provide our clients effective and professional services.

“Additionally, with EdgeProp's assistance, ORESB can deepen its understanding of the real estate market and create a successful market plan as EdgeProp provides distinctive features that give users access to information and market knowledge,” says Lee.

Meanwhile, EdgeProp business development head Nimalen Parimalam is also positive about the tie-up.

“We are confident we can help ORESB achieve its goals because we have the current tools on our digital platform and continuous innovations to make that work,” says Nimalen.
