S P Setia holds Setia4Malaysia Unity Run in Kota Kinabalu

KOTA KINABALU (Sept 6): S P Setia held its second Setia4Malaysia Unity Run this year in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah on Sunday (Sept 3) as part of the Malaysia Day celebrations and to spread the spirit of unity in East Malaysia.

The event, comprising a a 5km fun run, saw the participation of 1,000 running enthusiasts and families who enjoyed the “outdoors” at S P Setia's Aeropod mixed development here.

S P Setia’s charity arm S P Setia Foundation also invited 40 B40 students from Institut Kemahiran Belia Negara (IKBN) Kinarut and Management & Science University (MSU) College Sabah to join the run. “Embracing inclusivity”, the event saw 37 “differently abled individuals” taking part in Setia4Malaysia Unity Run.

The run was followed by a Zumba session and Sabahan cultural performances by Botibas Dance Crew from SK Kampung Contoh, Petagas.

On site were health screening sessions for the participants after the fun run which were conducted by 15 volunteer students from One Student Health Club of Faculties Medicine & Health Sciences of Universiti Malaya Sabah.

"We were excited to organise our first Setia4Malaysia Unity Run outside of the Klang Valley to engage with the Malaysian community here in East Malaysia, especially as we approach the Malaysia Day celebrations. Following the fantastic turnout we witnessed in the previous installation at Setia Alam Impian, we were thrilled to bring together a crowd here at Aeropod to celebrate the Malaysian spirit," said Sha’ari Hanapi, general manager of Aeropod by Setia.

"The Setia4Malaysia Unity Run fosters a sense of togetherness and unity among Malaysians, and we are honoured to be a part of such a meaningful initiative right here in Kota Kinabalu.
